Building Community: Ribbon Cuttings at Wye Avenue and Gethsemani Centers in North Charleston
IntraCoastal Construction was honored to celebrate alongside Hill Construction and local leaders at the recent ribbon cutting ceremonies for the Wye Avenue and Gethsemani Community Centers in North Charleston, SC. These events marked the official start of two impactful neighborhood projects—each designed to bring people together and support community growth.
The centers will serve as gathering places for a wide range of programs and services—from youth activities and public meetings to educational resources and local events. They’re more than just buildings—they’re investments in the people who live nearby.
IntraCoastal Construction partnered with Hill Construction to provide full site development services, including land clearing, grading, utility installation, stormwater management, and hardscaping. The goal was to create a solid foundation—literally and figuratively—for long-term success and accessibility.
“These centers will create opportunities for generations to come,” said Joe Valesko, Principal at IntraCoastal Construction. “It’s an honor to be part of projects that directly serve the neighborhoods where we live and work.”
City officials, project stakeholders, and residents came together at both ribbon cuttings to reflect on the collaboration and care that brought these projects to life.
“Hill Construction is a tremendous partner in this process,” said Nina Spray, Business Development at IntraCoastal. “We have a bond built on trust, and our quality goals always align. That makes collaboration feel natural.”
At IntraCoastal Construction, we believe that strong partnerships lead to stronger communities. The Wye and Gethsemane Community Centers are proof of what’s possible when construction teams, local leaders, and neighbors work together toward a common goal.
